Hot fudge is made by heating chocolate fudge[dubious – discuss], which is typically used as a topping for ice cream, particularly sundaes and parfaits. It may also occasionally be topped upon s'mores. Hot Fudge Sauce Description by Cathy "This is a very classic hot fudge for all your chocolate whims. Ingredients 4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 cups white sugar 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk Directions 1. Fill the lower pot of a double boiler half way and bring to a boil. Melt chocolate, butter, and salt together in upper pot. Add the sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring after each addition. 2. Gradually add the evaporated milk, a little at a time and continue stirring until well mixed. Serve hot over ice cream. Extra sauce maybe stored in refrigerator and reheated in microwave.
